Malaysian Astronout!

First of all, Congratulations to Sheikh Muzaphar on being the first Malaysian Astronout and keeping with the spirit of Malaysia Boleh. Good to know that we Malaysians have reached a certain level of achievement that we can be proud of and stad side by side with the rest of the world.

Congratulations also to Malaysia for spending about RM70 million or was it USD70 million in an effort to put a guy in space. Wouldn’t that amount of money be better used elsewhere? I mean honestly, yeah we are proud to have a Malaysian in outer space doing space walks and conduct scientific experiments, he does not even have any scientific background to conduct scientific tests for God’s sake!!!!!! Also claims on being the first muslim to fast and break fast in space and all that jazz, and is he really going to fast in space? Oh yeah, he is also helping out the space station in conducting tests? What test?

I could think of 70 million other uses for RM70 million, how about using it to subsidise the price of fuel for Malaysians, or how about putting the money into a trust fund for those in need of money for surgery, you know, sometimes it comes out in the papers that so and so needs RM so and so for surgery, if the so and so does not receive the money, so and so will have half the chance to lead a normal life, or worse still, not live a life at all. RM70 million could save a lot of lives and make lives more comfortable for other Malaysians. Or we could use the money to make the roads in Malaysia better….the rich ones wouldn’t have to worry about breaking their shiny and expensive cars and the poorer ones wouldn’t have to worry about spending money to fix their already dilapidated cars. This benefits all parties. What good would one sole Malaysian do for the rest of us in outer space? Call me un-patriotic but seriously folks, tell me the benefits of sending a sole Malaysian into outer space…
